Drita Tafa, a 36-year-old woman from Ulcinj, Montenegro, died after giving birth in the hospital of the city of Tivar. Her family claims that the cause of death was wrong medication. For three days, family members and public opinion have been demanding justice and investigations to clarify the circumstances of this tragedy.

The issue was also raised in the Montenegrin parliament and by former Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic. The relatives of the deceased, who left behind three orphaned children, say that Drita Tafa had no health problems before.

After pressure from public opinion, a Montenegrin court ordered the exhumation of her body for an autopsy. The Montenegrin Minister of Health has stated that investigations have begun, however, an official version on the causes of death has not yet been published.

Today, hundreds of citizens in Ulcinj came out in a protest march, demanding justice for Drita Tafa.
