Indictment for war crimes against a Serbian citizen

The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo filed today an indictment in the Basic Court in Pristina against the defendant S.L., due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “War crime against the civilian population”, sanctioned by the Criminal Law of the RSFJ.

According to the indictment, criminal actions were committed during the period 1998-1999 in the village of Panorc, Malishevë Municipality, writes KosovaPress.

“The defendant, acting in concert with other members of the Serbian police and military forces, violated the rules of international law, carrying out illegal arrests, physical and psychological torture of about 500 citizens who were not involved in the war, mass deportations of the Albanian population, destruction of property and looting. The defendant is under the measure of detention until another decision of the court. This criminal case has already passed to the competence of the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina”, the announcement states.
