Prime Minister Edi Rama was present this Tuesday at the evening organized by the youth of the “Arbën Xhaferri” Foundation.
In his speech, the head of government Rama focused on one of the hottest topics in North Macedonia, which will be examined by the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia, that of the use of the Albanian language.
According to him, the Albanian language is the “material” that has helped to keep North Macedonia together and nurture a spirit of coexistence between the two peoples that form the state of North Macedonia, the Macedonians and the Albanians.
“Unfortunately, the topic of the Albanian language is introduced here as well, which at the moment we speak is in an incomprehensible and inexplicable dispute for me in the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia. I am not saying that the leaders who believe in the Constitutional Courts of other countries are wrong.
But I think that what Albanians have gained as citizenship rights in North Macedonia is not a matter of the Constitutional Court, it is not a matter of laws, it is not a matter of the temporary will of political parties. I say temporary because political parties are elected once every four years and sometimes they are on one side, sometimes on the other side, sometimes they have a lot of things in hand, sometimes they don’t have things in hand.
The Albanian language in North Macedonia is a matter of matter that has helped tremendously not only to keep North Macedonia together, but also to nurture a spirit and a way of seeing coexistence between the two state-forming peoples of North Macedonia , Macedonians and Albanians, in a sense like the one that Arbën Xhaferri shows as his biggest dream.
In the sense of integration, in this case of the two state-forming peoples of North Macedonia, in the system of Western political, ethical and cultural values. This is a very big thing to enter into the legal labyrinths that now belong to the past, since many years ago Arbën Xhaferri and Ali Ahmeti, together with others, were placed on the milestones of peaceful coexistence and European state-building of Macedonia then and North Macedonia today.
And it was not decided by Arbën Xhaferri and Ali Ahmeti, but it was decided by the Albanians represented at the table by Arbën Xhaferri and placed in the mountains by Ali and the Macedonians represented by their highest representatives of the time”, said Prime Minister Rama.
