Yesterday evening, Russia launched another airstrike on the capital of Ukraine, causing significant damage in several areas of Kiev. Among the buildings affected by the bombings is the one where the Albanian embassy is located.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania reacted immediately, strongly condemning these attacks, which it calls brutal and unacceptable. In the official statement, the MEPJ confirms the damage to the external facade and some internal spaces of the Albanian embassy, while emphasizing that fortunately there were no injuries, but only material damage.
“A series of airstrikes by the Russian Federation shook Kyiv, partially damaging the building where our embassy and several other diplomatic missions are located. This senseless act is a direct attack on the foundations of international diplomacy. The inviolability of diplomatic missions and the protection of their personnel are non-negotiable principles that must be fully respected,” the Ministry’s statement said.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Tykhy, announced that as a result of the attacks, six foreign embassies were damaged, including those of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro, which are located in the same building.
