The Director of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, in an informal communication with journalists, spoke about some of the most important investigative files current in the institution . Dumani stated that there will be charges against persons and officials who have published confidential details related to cases under investigation. He also promised that a SPAK strategy against election manipulation will be published. Regardless of the electoral campaign, he said that every senior official will be prosecuted if there is evidence against them.
The Socialist and Democratic Parties have agreed to amend the Electoral Code regarding the vote of emigrants. According to the agreement, the votes will be counted by representatives of both parties, and the CEC must pay all postal expenses for the vote of Albanians in the diaspora.
More than 11,000 Albanians in the diaspora were denied registration in the vote of May 11. According to the head of the Election Commission, Ilirian Celibashi, the main reasons are address errors and the lack of correct ID documents. To date, over 43,000 citizens have applied, 19,000 have been approved, 11,000 refused due to errors with the rest being processed.
NATO and the European Union are increasing the number of military forces in Kosovo ahead of the February 9 parliamentary elections. 200 soldiers have been added as part of the KFOR mission, which operates mainly in the north of the country.
