Ukrainian journalist Olga Pridako passed away this Wednesday in Pristina, where she had been living for over two years with her son.
The news was confirmed by the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK), which expressed its condolences in a statement.
“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ukrainian journalist Olga Pridako at the age of 51. She passed away in her apartment in Pristina, where she lived with her son, Yaroslav. AGK and the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) extend their heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones,” the AGK statement read.
Pridako was a participant in the “Journalists in Residence in Kosovo” program, which provided her with the opportunity to continue her journalistic career while residing in Kosovo.
“Her dedication to journalism and her professional integrity will be remembered and honored by all who knew her,” the AGK statement concluded.
Her passing has deeply affected the journalist community and all those who knew her personally.
