The current Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, who is once again the candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement for this position, has cast his vote for the parliamentary elections at the Faculty of Economics in Pristina.
He encouraged every citizen of Kosovo to exercise their democratic right to vote in order to make their voice heard for the next four years.
“Exercise your democratic right to make your voice heard. Use the opportunity of freedom to decide for the next four years,” said Kurti.
Other candidates for prime minister in these elections are: Bedri Hamza from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku from the Democratic League of Kosovo, and Ramush Haradinaj from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.
A total of 28 political entities with 1,280 candidates are competing for the support of around two million voters to secure seats in Kosovo’s 120-member parliament in today’s parliamentary elections. Twenty of these seats are reserved for national minorities, ten of which belong to the Serbian community, represented by six political entities.
More than 940 polling stations will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, while over 100 European Union observers and 18 from the Council of Europe will join other local and international monitors closely following the voting process.
