“The ruling party of Kosovo, Vetëvendosje, is on track to come first in Sunday’s parliamentary elections but will need to negotiate a coalition with other parties to form a government,” writes Reuters.
Referring to the Exit Poll from Klan Kosova, Reuters states that the election result would mark a decline from the more than 50% won by Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s party in 2021.
However, it positions him to lead the next government in a country whose politics are dominated by relations with neighboring Serbia and the Serbs within its borders.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has previously stated that the goal of the Vetëvendosje Movement is to govern alone and has rejected the idea of forming a coalition.
