The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment this Thursday at the Basic Court in Pristina against two defendants, B.Sh. and M.Q., following investigative developments.
“There is well-founded suspicion that the defendants, B.Sh. and M.Q., individually committed the criminal offense of ‘Espionage’ under Article 124, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK). Additionally, the defendant M.Q. is also charged with the criminal offense of ‘Unauthorized possession, control, or possession of weapons’ under Article 366, Paragraph 1 of the KPRK,” stated the Prosecution’s announcement.
The state prosecutor from the Special Prosecution has recommended that the court declare the defendants guilty and sentence them in accordance with the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo after the judicial review and administration of evidence.
“Furthermore, the case prosecutor has requested the court to extend the defendants’ pre-trial detention until the completion of the judicial review, as legal conditions still justify the continuation of this measure,” the statement added.
In 2024, two individuals, B.Sh. and M.Q., were arrested on suspicion of collaborating with the Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA).
