The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrives in Tirana this Sunday for his first official visit to Albania.
Prime Minister Edi Rama described the visit as an important moment in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
“The visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates, one of today’s most respected global leaders, marks a key moment in reinforcing the partnership between our nations. He comes to set new milestones based on shared interests,” said Rama.
During the visit, discussions are expected on strategic projects, including infrastructure monitoring with advanced technology and the establishment of a joint securities enterprise.
Sheikh Bin Zayed has played a crucial role in major investments in Albania, such as the construction of the Port of Durrës—a project aimed at transforming it into one of the largest tourist and commercial ports in the region, attracting investments and boosting the local economy.
He was also the primary donor for reconstruction efforts following the 2019 earthquake, financing the construction of the new neighborhood in Spitallë.
With his support, KESH and the Masdar Group company are collaborating on the development of green energy, enhancing Albania’s production capacities.
The visit of the UAE President is considered a significant step towards strengthening economic and strategic ties between the two countries.
