A 28-year-old man, wanted internationally by Spanish authorities, has been arrested in Durrës as part of a police operation codenamed “Ghost.” The arrested individual is Ilirjan Mici, a citizen accused of involvement in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotic substances.
The arrest footage shows the moment when operational forces intervene in his residence, detaining him on the upper floor of a three-story villa.
Mici had been wanted following a decision by the Court of Madrid, Spain, which on December 28, 2023, issued a “Pretrial detention” order for crimes including “Criminal organization,” “Drug trafficking,” and “Money laundering,” according to the Spanish Penal Code. For these crimes, he faces up to 26 years in prison.
Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid are working on the procedures for his extradition to Spain.
