Exports in February reached a total value of 34 billion lek, reflecting a recovery in foreign trade, primarily driven by the sale of fuel and energy resources.
The export of goods recorded positive growth in February 2024, marking a 4% increase compared to the same month last year. However, the growth rate has been heavily influenced by oil exports, as domestic production in most export categories has declined.
According to INSTAT, the 64% increase in fuel exports at the beginning of the year has compensated for the decline across other product groups.
For other goods, statistics indicate that Albanian exporters were not favored during this period, as demand in international markets was largely met by other countries.
In February, the countries where Albania experienced the highest export growth were:
- Kosovo
- Greece
- Germany
On the other hand, imports of goods dropped by 9%, reaching 68 billion lek, compared to the same period last year.
In terms of trade exchanges, the countries with the highest increase in imports to Albania were:
- China
- Greece
- Spain
