State leaders and politicians have extended their wishes to Muslim believers for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, emphasizing the importance of preserving harmony among religious groups. President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, in his message, described it as a day of solidarity for all Albanians.

“Happy Eid al-Fitr! May this special day be one of solidarity and kindness for all Albanians. The words of the Quran and the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad should serve as a source of inspiration for every Albanian in their daily life. Let us reach out to one another, help those in need, and remain united in the service of our greater good—religious harmony, interfaith dialogue, and national interest,” said Begaj.

Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali, during her visit to the Muslim Community headquarters, emphasized that Eid al-Fitr is a day that brings believers together after a month of fasting and sacrifice.

“Today is a joyful day for all Muslim believers, the day of Eid al-Fitr. It is a day that unites us after a month of fasting, sacrifice, and prayers. Believers come to seek acceptance of their sacrifices. This is a day that radiates beyond the Muslim community, and I wish all Albanians well, because we share our holidays and joys with one another. It is clear evidence that tolerance and brotherhood among religious communities are a lived reality, not just a slogan. I want to congratulate the Muslim Community for radiating this tolerance and the best values of our people, promoting progress and harmony rather than division,” she said.

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha also extended his greetings to Muslim believers after his visit to the Albanian Muslim Community. Berisha stated that if he returns to power, he will double the funding for religious communities and make Friday prayer time a designated break from work.

Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj also shared a message for this holy day.

“Happy Eid al-Fitr! Congratulations to all Muslim believers on the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan! May God accept your prayers and reward your sacrifices. May this Eid be a day of celebration for all Muslim believers and every Albanian family; may it be a source of love for your loved ones and bring peace and kindness to you all!” he wrote on Facebook.

Eid al-Fitr symbolizes not only gratitude and forgiveness, but also closeness to one another, keeping alive values and traditions passed down through generations.
