The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was in Elbasan today where he presented the parliamentary candidates of the Alliance for the Great Albania.
During his speech, Berisha said that these elections will mark an important moment for Albania by putting an end, according to him, to the 12-year winter.
“Three weeks ago, I was in the blessed city of Elbasan to celebrate with you your holiday and that of all Albanians — the Summer Day, the day of hope, the day of great changes.
Today I return once again to this city to deliver the message that this year Elbasan and all of Albania will have a second summer day, and that will be May 11. May 11 will be the day that ends the longest 12-year winter experienced by Albanians. May 11 will be the day of the true spring of democracy for Albania and the Albanians. May 11 will be the day when the rays of the sun will shine over Elbasan and throughout Albania. For the magnificent Elbasan and the magnificent Albania of the next 4 years. Elbasan is a wonderful city. Elbasan has historically been a city of vibrancy, of culture, of values, of knowledge, of production. It has therefore been a city with a most precious heritage. In the 12 years of Edi Rama, Elbasan was devastated more than during any occupation, more than during any war,” said Berisha.
