The Vienna Institute expects Albania’s economic growth this year to reach 3.7%. In its latest report, it is assessed that the tariffs announced by Trump will not impact the performance of Albania’s economy.
Albania is expected to maintain its projected economic growth rate throughout 2025, despite global market uncertainties caused by trade tariffs.
This conclusion is outlined in the latest report from the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, which forecasts that the economy will expand by 3.7% this year.
A similar projection is made for the region, where all countries are expected to grow their economies by an average of 3% in 2025 and 3.6% in 2026.
The report, covering 23 countries from Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, emphasizes that most regional economies — including EU member states — will maintain stable growth throughout 2025, even as the eurozone faces significant challenges.
For EU countries, analysts predict an average growth of 2.5% for 2025, with a slight improvement to 2.8% in 2026.
“The negative effects of Trump’s tariffs will be largely mitigated next year thanks to the shift in German fiscal policy and the €500 billion package for defense, infrastructure, and climate initiatives,” the Vienna Institute’s report predicts.
