Diaspora Vote / Socialist Party Widens the Lead, Over 26,000 Votes Ahead of Democrats

The counting of diaspora votes for the May 11 parliamentary elections is ongoing, with the Socialist Party maintaining a significant lead over the Democratic Party — a gap of more than 26,000 votes.

According to official data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), 102,324 envelopes have been counted so far out of a total of 194,889.

Based on the current figures, the Socialist Party has secured 54,640 votes, or 54.23% of the total, while the Democratic Party ranks second with 28,468 votes, accounting for 28.23%.

In third place, with a noteworthy result, is the “Albania is Becoming” initiative led by Adriatik Lapaj, with 8,481 votes, followed by the Opportunity Party with 3,638 votes.

Preliminary diaspora results (so far) – 102,324 envelopes counted out of 194,889 total:

  • Socialist Party (PS) – 54,640 votes (54.23%)
  • Democratic Party (PD) – 28,468 votes (28.23%)
  • “Albania is Becoming” Initiative (Lapaj) – 8,481 votes (8.42%)
  • Opportunity Party (Mundësia) – 3,638 votes (3.61%)
  • Together Movement (Bashkë) – 2,651 votes (2.62%)
  • Social Democratic Party (PSD) – 1,157 votes (1.15%)

The counting process continues, and the final result is expected to provide a clearer picture of the real impact of the diaspora vote on the final composition of Parliament.
