The Embassy of the United States of America has issued a congratulatory message regarding Albania’s parliamentary elections held on May 11.

In a post shared on its official Facebook page, the US Embassy congratulated the Albanian people and expressed its intention to “continue the close partnership with Albania.”

“We congratulate the people of Albania on the parliamentary elections and look forward to continuing our close partnership with Albania,” the message reads.

The May 11 parliamentary elections were won by the Socialist Party, which secured 83 seats in Parliament, while the second-largest political force, the Democratic Party along with its allies, won 50 seats in the new Parliament.
