Adriatik Lapaj, leader of the Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet coalition, has officially called for a recount of votes in the Fier and Vlorë districts. In a social media post, Lapaj claims that after reviewing video footage obtained from the Central Election Commission (CEC), his team has identified significant mismatches between the actual ballot counts and the official vote records approved by the local Election Commissions (KZAZ).
“We just received the video recordings yesterday (ZAZ 59 in Fier is still unavailable), and upon reviewing them, we’ve found meaningful discrepancies between the actual votes in the ballot boxes and the official protocols approved by the KZAZ,” Lapaj stated.
Given the narrow margin by which the Socialist Party (PS) secured mandates in these two districts, Lapaj argues there is sufficient reason to demand a recount. He emphasized that if even a single vote was tampered with, his coalition would press criminal charges against those responsible.
Lapaj also cited specific examples of alleged vote manipulation:
-
ZAZ 55, VNV 55/3, Box 2831/00: 4 votes added to PS, 2 votes removed from Nisma SHB
-
ZAZ 60, VNV 60/3, Box 3017: 2 invalid votes wrongly counted for PS
-
ZAZ 60, VNV 60/3, Box 2997/00: 2 votes added to PD, 4 votes added to PS
-
ZAZ 56, VNV 56/5, Box 288/01: 2 votes added to PS, 1 vote removed from Lëvizja Atdheu
-
ZAZ 56, VNV 56/3, Box 2866/01: 1 vote removed from Nisma SHB, 3 extra invalid votes registered
-
ZAZ 56, Box 2862/01: 2 votes removed from Nisma SHB, 2 invalid votes added
Lapaj announced that the formal request for a recount would be submitted to the CEC today. “Even if we don’t win those mandates, if just one vote was manipulated, legal consequences must follow,” he declared.
The Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet coalition won only one parliamentary seat in the May 11 elections.
