Three Albanian citizens wanted internationally have been extradited from Albania to Italy, as part of ongoing operational cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome.

According to an official statement from the police, the extradition was carried out on behalf of Italian judicial authorities and includes the following individuals:

  • Albert Koni, 51 years old — Sentenced in 2025 by the Court of Turin to 4 years and 6 months in prison for “production and sale of narcotics.” He is accused of selling cocaine in public areas in Arona and Novara in 2017.

  • R. A., 21 years old — Subject to a pre-trial detention order issued by the Milan Court in 2024 for “drug trafficking” within a criminal organization. Italian authorities allege he was part of a network trafficking large quantities of drugs in Milan between 2022 and 2024.

  • A. F., 39 years old — Under investigation by the Genoa Court, which issued a detention order as part of Operation “COOK 2020” led by Italian police. He is accused of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms as part of a criminal organization.

The extraditions reflect continued efforts to combat cross-border organized crime and reinforce judicial cooperation between Albania and Italy.
