This year, 70,000 farmers across Albania have applied for funding through the 2025 National Subsidy Scheme, with applications open from April 14 to May 30. The highest demand was for free fuel support, reflecting farmers’ growing interest in reducing operational costs.

Applications were most concentrated in regions with strong agricultural and livestock activity, including:

• Korçë

• Berat

• Elbasan

What the Subsidies Cover

The 2025 scheme includes direct payments in sectors such as:

• Livestock

• Beekeeping

• Seeds and saplings

• Medicinal plants

• Organic farming

• Free agricultural fuel

Verification and Documentation Process

The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (AZHBR) will now begin verifying and processing applications. Some required documents will be automatically pulled from e-Albania, while others must be submitted directly by farmers.

Key requirements include:

• Land ownership or notarized lease contracts

• No outstanding debts to the Social Insurance Institute

For activities already completed, such as prior sowing, existing livestock, or bee colonies, on-site inspections will be conducted to confirm eligibility.

Disbursement of Funds

After the verification process concludes, payments will be disbursed directly to eligible farmers. The total allocated fund for 2025 is €33 million, a slight increase compared to 2024, when over 67,000 farmers benefited.
