The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has issued a warning to citizens regarding the use of tourist visas.

In a social media post, the embassy emphasized that using a tourist visa to travel to the United States primarily to give birth and obtain U.S. citizenship for the child is prohibited.

“Using a tourist visa to travel primarily for the purpose of giving birth in the United States and obtaining citizenship for your child is not allowed and may result in a visa denial,” the embassy’s announcement stated.
