The National Inspectorate for the Protection of the Territory (IKMT) has continued its operation in Valbona National Park to demolish illegal constructions. So far, 20 structures have been torn down, including concrete platforms, wooden frameworks, and one- and two-story buildings, primarily used as guesthouses and service facilities.
The number of demolished constructions has reached 20, and the operation is expected to continue in the coming days to fully clear the area of unlawful interventions.
Authorities confirmed that the structures were built in violation of the law, without construction permits, and in disregard of the special protected status of Valbona National Park, which enjoys strict legal protection.
IKMT stressed that the identification and crackdown on illegal activities will continue uninterrupted, with the aim of preserving the park’s integrity and protecting the environment from pollution and uncontrolled urbanization.
This operation forms part of a broader initiative to free Albania’s protected areas from unlawful construction, which threatens biodiversity and damages fragile natural ecosystems.
