The electoral survey conducted by Euronews Albania and MRB revealed that Edi Rama has the highest likeability as a leader on a country scale as opposed to the district of Tirana, where Lulzim Basha seems to be the most preferred candidate.
Jonila Godole, director of the Institute for Democracy Media and Culture, said that premises are that the campaign will become even more aggressive, particularly on the side of PM Rama and the SP, and this in turn will most likely drop the likeability of the Rama.
According to Godole, Rama’s figure “has been consumed by 8 years of governance” and expectations were that the assessment could have been more negative.
“This will depend on how the campaign will unfold. I am not referring to a negative campaign, because that is more than normal, actually sometimes even necessary. It would be negative if it would wave propaganda. There should be another side to do the confrontation. I am referring here to insults, bullying, and signs of violence. We’re interested in how the electoral process will unfold and what will happen with the undecided voters”, said Godole.
