Foreign direct investment in Albania continued to grow for the fifth consecutive year, reaching a historic level of €1.64 billion in 2025.
According to a report published by the Bank of Albania, foreign direct investment increased by 3.5% compared to 2024.
The Bank of Albania highlights that the annual growth was mainly driven by new investments.
These reached a value of €798 million, up by 13.5% compared to the previous year, while reinvested earnings were estimated at €837 million.
The data show that reinvested earnings remain the largest component of the Foreign direct Investment structure, accounting for over 51% of the annual total.
In the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, Foreign Direct Investments inflows were estimated at €427 million.
According to the Bank of Albania, during this period, foreign investments were mainly concentrated in real estate, which accounted for 37% of the total, while the financial intermediation, energy, and hydrocarbons sectors contributed 17%, 9%, and 6% respectively, with transport accounting for 5% of the inflows.
