The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, has been re-elected as the leader of the Social Democratic Union (SDSM) for the third consecutive time.
Zaev was the only candidate racing for the chairmanship of the party, while members could either vote in favor or against him.
About 90% of the active members took part in the internal elections and voting lasted from 8 AM to 7 PM, confirmed the Central Election Commission of SDSM.
Out of an overall 60.840 participants, 888 voted against and 249 votes were declared invalid.
After his reaffirmation at the party’s executive post, Zoran Zaev emphasized that in the upcoming four years SDSM will be the “engine” to drive the society forward.
