The U.S. Department of State has published a joint statement by the United States, the United Kingdom, Albania, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden regarding threatening activities by the Iranian state in Europe, North America, and Australia.
The statement condemns “deadly plots and other malicious activities carried out by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization, the Quds Force, and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security, including activities targeting Iranian dissidents, journalists, as well as Jewish, Israeli, and related community interests.”
“We stand united in our determination to protect our countries and our people from these threats. The Islamic Republic of Iran must put an end to these actions immediately,” the statement says.
According to the document published by the U.S. Department of State, the relationship between Iranian security services and both international and local criminal groups has existed for a long time, and the use of such groups is described as unacceptable.
The statement also condemns a recent campaign of attacks across Europe targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists, and American interests, which it says were claimed by Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya and supported by its proxies.
“These actions must stop immediately. We commend the efforts of countries working to counter these activities and remain committed to taking further joint measures to prevent them,” the statement concludes.
