The Socialist Party and the Democratic Party have officially launched the start of the electoral campaign.
Hundreds of citizens gathered around 5 PM at Mother Theresa Square to support the Democratic Party waving the national flag and calling against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Reporting from the ground, Euronews Albania journalist Renaldo Salianji said that candidates have lined up on the two sides of the podium while keeping a distance between each other, while supporters wait for the arrival of the party’s leader.
Meanwhile, the Socialists kicked off the campaign ceremony at around 6 PM at Skanderbeg Square.
Euronews Albania Eksiola Shehu reported that a podium with large screens has been installed at the square, while organizers are setting up the seating plan.
The Socialist Party has been quite reserved in providing information; however, our reporter has learned that Prime Minister Edi Rama will make the opening speech.
