If the parliamentary elections were to be held today, the Durres County would be an intense battleground, where the Socialists and Democrats would face-off and come out on the other side at a narrow difference.

After analyzing all the collected data, the third national survey conducted by MRB in collaboration with Euronews Albania, concluded that the division of mandates in Durres County would be almost equal.

Durres has a total of 14 seats and the projections show that SP would get 7-8 mandates whereas DP, 6-7.

These conclusions were based on the projection, according to which if the elections were to be held next Sunday, Durres would be divided between the following parties:

SP – 49.1%

DP – 41.9%

SMI – 6.1%

Others – 2.9%

According to this projection, only one seat is uncertain and could go to either one, in this case SP, DP or SMI. If elections were to be held today, this is the projection for Durres:

  • PS – 7-8 seats
  • PD – 6-7 seats
  • LSI – 0-1 seats

Compared to the 2017 elections, DP seems to have made considerable progress as from 4 seats won in 2017, this time it’s projected to fight for the 7th mandate.

The Durres County believes that SP would be able to get the parliamentary majority (82.5%) whereas 49.9% of participants believe this is true for the Democratic Party.

It seems that the SP will need to fight in order to maintain the same results it held in the previous elections as it risks to go down from 8 seats to 7. On the other hand, SMI which in 2017 won 2 seats, this time around could be securing an extra MP.

In 2013, Durres had 13 mandates and SP and SMI were in coalition getting 6 and 1 seats respectively. On the other hand, DP got 5 seats and Republican Party, 1.
