The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, took it on Twitter to welcome the resolution of the European Parliament in asking the EU Council to lift the visa regime with Kosovo.

Kosovo’s executive chief joined the EP’s appeal and called on member states to end what he called “the unjust and unfair” treatment of the people of Kosovo.

The resolution received 471 votes during voting at the European Parliament, while its rapporteur on Kosovo, Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, urged member states to liberalize visas and warned that unkept promises from the EU might result in loss of its credibility.

Kosovo remains the only state in the Western Balkans region that still has a visa regime with the EU.
