The Prosecution Office has officially reached out to the Embassy of the United States in Albania to seek more information on Tom Doshi, a candidate for MP in the April 25 elections.

In the letter sent to the US Embassy, the Prosecution wants to learn more about the information that the Embassy is holding on Doshi, given that in April 2018 the Department of State banned his and his family’s entrance on US territory.

Furthermore, US Ambassador Yuri Kim has continuously called on authorities not to permit Doshi to run in the elections.

Upon receipt of a response from the US Embassy, the Prosecution Office explained that it will assess the upcoming steps depending on the information that it will receive.

A parallel investigation has also been launched on 27 other candidates, initially by seeking more information from local institutions.
