The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, said during an interview with Ilva Tare that there are candidates who have issues with the law on the list of the Socialist Movement for Integration.

“In my assessment, SMI’s list is hiding people that have problems with the law, I have already pointed them out, in Cerrik, the former mayor was taken to SPAK, or the former mayor of Perrenjas”, claimed Balla.

Balla dodged a question to give an assessment of his political opponents but insisted that the SP will be successful in Elbasan, adding that the opposition will only get 3-5 mandates.

“The Municipality of Elbasan does not exist on the list of the Democratic Party, the DP will have three or four mandates but none of its first candidates will have any connection to the municipality of Elbasan”, Balla stated.

He also was firm on his opinion that all polls so far indicate the Socialists as the winning force and said that the minimum objective is to get 78 mandates, while the maximum 88.

Furthermore, the candidate of the Socialist Party in the district of Elbasan spoke over the US Ambassador’s visit to the city and praised her message over vote-buying.

“Regarding the visit of Yuri Kim, among the elements that I appreciated was her message over the phenomenon of vote-buying”, said Balla.

He also expressed certainty that the SMI will not be able to get any mandates in Elbasan, sarcastically explaining “because in these elections vote-buying-and-selling won’t be allowed”.
