Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla considered the establishment of the Kosovo embassy in Jerusalem, a closed case. In an interview for journalist, Jeta Xhara, Gërvalla stated that they have no intention of embarking on diplomatic adventures and reconsider this decision.
“I have saluted the diplomatic recognition from Israel and I believe that the case of our embassy in Israel, is a closed one. We won’t embark on diplomatic adventures in order to return for consideration a case that is finished,” said Gërvalla.
Kosovo opened its embassy in Jerusalem on March 15th, an act that incited reactions, including from the president of Turkey, Rexhep Tayyp Erdogan and the EU.
The establishment of the Kosovo embassy in Israel is part of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia signed in the White House last year.
Earlier, during a visit with the Turkish ambassador, Albin Kurti has said that he would review this decision.
