The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has decided that candidates for MP in the April 25th elections will be identified in the ballot paper through their name.
The news was announced by the State Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi. During his statement, Celibashi confirmed that the font of the ballot will be different in every district county.
“Candidates will be identified by name. For every district, the typography or font and other characteristics of writing will depend on the number of candidates for each district,” explained Celibashi.
Regarding this decision, Celibashi highlighted the fact that electoral subjects have the right to appeal in the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions (KAS), within three days.
“This ruling comes in force immediately and is published in the official webpage of CEC. Anyone against it can issue an appeal in KAS within three days, from the time of this announcement,” said Celibashi.
The State Commissioner also pointed out that they have refused the request of the Socialist Party that had previously proposed to have a ballot paper identifying candidates by numbers instead of names.
