On Thursday, British Ambassador Duncan Norman visited the district of Elbasan.
Ambassador Duncan met with candidates from Albania’s three major political forces, namely Taulant Balla, Gazmend Bardhi, and Monika Kryemadhi.
The Ambassador took it on Twitter to encourage candidates for a “fair campaign” and urged citizens to exercise their right to vote.

After the meeting, Taulant Balla, who is also the general secretary of the Socialist Party, said among the topics discussed with the British diplomat was the swift approval of the ballot paper by the Central Election Commission.
In a Facebook status, the leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration and the party’s candidate in the district said that the ambassador assured her that he will be in Elbasan on voting day to monitor that “process runs smoothly”.
On March 10, US Ambassador Yuri Kim also met with the candidates of Elbasan during a visit to the city, followed by a strong declaration that she “would not be surprised if some of the candidates would get disqualified”.
