The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, declared that the government will address all the problems encountered by citizens, but before that, the country will have to conclude the process of selecting the new president.

On the opposite, Kurti said during the plenary session, the country risks heading towards elections again.

“You will have those solutions from our governance program and our work plant but first we need to appoint the present, it is imperative that we conclude the third step in constituting institutions in order to have the four-year term, or else, we’re going to elections”, said Kurti.

During Friday’s plenary session, MPs raised the matter over the handling of the pandemic, but Kurti responded to them by recalling that last year, during his first government, there were no infections in Kosovo, praising his strategy at the time.

“Last May there were no cases. Why? Because our approach was to go into lockdown and then towards a gradual reopening so that we can trace the cases and we were successful. However when the government changed, so did the approach as well as the strategy, and then the consequences arrive”, said Kurti.
