Today, Catholic Christians in Albania and around the world are celebrating Easter also known as Pascha.

Easter celebrations mark the greatest moment in the liturgic calendar of the Catholic Church as well as other Christian churches.

This day commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, as described in the New Testament and symbolizes the power of God, giving hope to all believers.

This special day couldn’t have gone past without the greetings of Albanian diplomats and politicians.

Through a post on Facebook, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha extended his greetings to all catholic Christians, while expressing his utmost conviction that better days are coming for Albanians, implying the possible changes after April 25th elections.

“Easter celebrations mark the triumph of good over evil, and the extraordinary power of rebirth and love. Today, when like never before we find ourselves at a crossroads, together we should find the strength to overcome every obstacle with our hearts, filled with the trust that our aspirations will become reality.

Therefore, all of you sisters and brothers that are currently facing difficulties in their health, mothers and fathers that everyday are faced with economic hardships, young boys and girls, who are contemplating emigration, fill your hearts with hope because better days are coming,” wrote Basha.

PM Edi Rama also extended his greetings through a post on his social networks.

The EU delegation in Albania also sent their wishes to all believers.

“The EU Delegation wishes a Happy Easter to all, who celebrate today. May this Easter bring to you peace, health and a lot of optimists for better days to come!” reads the EU delegation’s post on Twitter.
