The curb of infections from COVID-19 in Kosovo continues to be on the rise as is evident from the numbers reported daily by local health authorities.
The National Institute of Public Health admits that 14 citizens have unfortunately passed away, whereas out of 4742 tests, 685 have come out positive.
The victims were in the ages 53-81, whereas in total, Kosovo reports 1984 fatalities since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The total number of positive cases at the moment is 95.341 out of 456.664 suspected cases,” reported the IKSHPK.
The most affected communes in terms of positive cases are:
Prishtina 194 cases, Gjilan 70, Gjakova 46, Peja 41, Mitrovica 38, Vushtrri 35 raste, Ferizaj 31 and Skenderaj 31.
Kosovo has recently put in place a series of restrictive measures in an effort to halt the spread of the virus as well as new infections.
What remains concerning is that the country still lacks a significant number of vaccines and this has contributed to a considerable rise in hospital admissions.
