During a press conference for the environment with a focus on the protection of our waterbodies, the Minister of the Environment and Tourism, Blendi Klosi stated that now is the time that Albanian waters become part of a scientific research policy.
According to him, the coastal economy has just started to grow in our country and this development needs to be done by following a set of rules and norms that don’t negatively affect or damage it.
“The sea and all our waterbodies in fact, should serve to grow the new economy of coastal tourism, which is almost inexistent in Albania nowadays,” – said Klosi.
In addition, he stated that the politics that have been undertaken by the current administration for the facilitation of the establishment of an infrastructure for the creation of a new Albanian charter fleet of yachts and other vehicles pertaining to coastal tourism as well as concrete investments that are being applied in our coastlines, are a testimony that in a maximum of 5 years, Albania will be very active in the world of coastal tourism.
“We want very much, to be a champion of tourism in the Balkans and without a doubt, the sea is one of our most important assets in this competitive environment with the countries of the region as well,” concluded minister Klosi.
