Activist and former politician Xhemal Peroviq does not believe ethnicity played a role in the election of Dritan Abazovic as the Prime Minister of Montenegro.

In an interview for Euronews Albania on Friday, Peroviq held that Abazovic followed a consequential and Euroatlantic policy, and this helped him secure the post of the executive.

“His ethnic background was not the factor behind his election as prime minister, but consequential, Euro-Atlantic policies, as well as his ability as a good and confident interlocutor in Montenegro’s European orientation”, said Peroviq.

Dritan Abazovic was elected Prime Minister of Montenegro on Thursday after the parliament approved the new ministerial cabinet with 45 votes in favor and 3 against.
