The leader of the Democratic Alliance for Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku has criticized the PM of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the MPs of LVV (Self-Determination movement) for their participation in the electoral campaign of Albania.

Abdixhiku stated that the government has abandoned its own people, while emphasizing that immaturity is being exhibited at a time when 80 fellow citizens are dying in Prishtina every week and the elderly, who are at the greatest risk from COVID-19 are in anticipation for their vaccine.

The leader of LDK also said that February 14th was understood as an ‘end’ rather than a ‘beginning’.

“The involvement in elections and protests in Albania- by the PM, his ministers and MPs, – at a time, when 80 fellow citizens a week are dying in Prishtina; when the elderly are waiting to get vaccinated, shows immaturity, it shows irresponsibility. The efforts to help those suffering from the virus and their families, and for everyone else that today is expecting help – or at the very least showing solidarization with them – is the model example for a leader’s attitude. It is leadership. This work, this model, this attitude is something this administration can not seem to provide! It has abandoned its people. Instead of this, at the peak of our healthcare and economic crisis, the government that was chosen to lead here, has chosen to become opposition somewhere else, through protests and campaigns. It is evident that February 14th was understood as an end, not a beginning. But with this weak, very weak beginning, the honeymoon phase will soon be over. You have responsibility. Show responsibility!” wrote Abdixhiku.
