For political scientist Adri Nurellari, the government has instrumentalized the vaccination campaign for electoral purposes.
On Ilva Now, he argued that if the government would have been “more open-minded” about an earlier offer made by the Russian ambassador for the acquisition of the vaccines, the pandemic situation would have been entirely different.
Nurellari suggested that the prime minister’s “arrogant” response at the time was in fact an “orchestration of the vaccination campaign” and starting the rollout closer to the election date.
“We’ve evolved, from a campaign promises for asphalting roads to vaccines. The campaign is now being done on people’s lives”, insisted Nurellari as he criticized the government for its “abusive approach”.
“We know that in December there was an invitation from the Russian ambassador to acquire Sputnik V and the prime minister turned it down. Other states in the region started negotiating with China and the East, but the Albanian government refused with arrogance”, said Nurellari.
