After April 15, Albania’s electrical power sector will no longer be in a state of emergency.
In six months, the country followed a set of measures aimed at securing uninterrupted power and unchanged prices. During this period, Albania imported €300 million worth of electrical power.
Starting from Saturday, the country is expected to enter a new phase, that of saving.
Savings, boosting electricity production through powerships, and a study to increase the price for households consuming over 700 kW/hour were some of the points outlined on Friday.
In addition to the abovementioned, the government will put forth another €200 million for electricity.
Meanwhile, a new decision on extending the state of emergency could leave public power operators lacking crucial investments.
