The Ministry of Health said that 17 citizens have died from COVID-19 related complications in the last 24 hours.
In the past week, infection rates seem to be on the decrease with 475 new cases recorded on Tuesday.
There are currently 445 patients hospitalized due to COVID-19, of which 31 in intensive therapy.
Apart from a decrease in infection rates, another positive indicator has been the steady climb in recoveries. Authorities confirmed that over 81.810 citizens have so far defeated the virus, an additional 749 more from yesterday.
Tirana continues to remain the epicenter of the virus, counting the highest mortality and infection rates, while the active infections are currently at over 23.200.
COVID-19 has claimed 2.077 lives from the beginning of the pandemic, according to a tally kept by the Ministry of Health.
