Albanians are the citizens with the lowest purchasing power in Europe. With their current income, on average, they can buy fewer goods and services.

The income per capita is 32% of the average earned by citizens in the European Union.

As a result, consumption and purchasing power are at the lowest levels.

Eurostat released the report for 2021, where it appears that for the past 6 years, Albanians have remained at the same levels of well-being, and although there is a slight improvement of 1 percentage point compared to 2020, some other countries in the region have gone further more quickly on the road to prosperity, with the aim of catching up with the European average within a certain time period.

In Europe, Luxembourg, Ireland, and Denmark have the highest standard of wages and consumption.

The purchasing power for an Albanian citizen is 4 to 5 times lower than in these countries.

The annual income per capita in Luxembourg amounts to 110 thousand euros. In the European Union, 35 thousand and in Albania 4.500 euros
