Fifteen people died from COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, while the number of new infections is 594.

The last time that such a high figure was recorded was six months ago, on March 24.

The health ministry confirmed that the victims were from 59 to 88 years old, taking the official death toll to 2,668.

Authorities said that out of 4,625 tests, 594 returned positive, meanwhile, the number of active cases dropped to 10,436 as 984 citizens recovered on Tuesday.

Out of the active cases, 177 have been hospitalized (around 1.7%), of which 255 are in a more serious condition.
