The acting Foreign Minister of Albania, Gent Cakaj, announced on Tuesday that children from the Presevo Valley will receive free school textbooks and that they have already started distributing with their distribution.
According to him, the distribution of textbooks is a sign of direct support from the Albanian government. In a Facebook post, Cakaj said that the distribution of the books will be done through the Albanian National Council.
“A valuable gesture from the Albanian National Council at the Presevo Valley. With a direct financial support from the Albanian and Kosovo governments, the Council began to distribute today free textbooks for children at the Presevo Valley”, wrote Cakaj.
An estimate of 20,000 textbooks will go towards 4,000 Albanian children studying at the Presevo Valley. The acting foreign minister also said that the Albanian government is ready to come to the side and support the Albanians that live and work at the Presevo Valley.
“Nearly 20,000 textbooks will be distributed for 4,000 Albanian students. This will contribute towards strengthening the learning in the Albanian language and increase the quality of education at the Presevo Valley. Since there remains a lot to be done, we will continue to support them unsparingly”, concluded Cakaj.
