The summer season is approaching, while the lack of workers is very obvious.

“It is about 300,000 in the areas with the greatest flow, the needs are sensitive, the shortages are obvious,” said Brunilda Londo, executive director of the Albanian Tourist Union.

Even this year, the interests are on foreigners, despite the fact that they have a higher cost.

“From countries like Sri Lanka, India, different countries, the costs are higher and we want to give priority to the employment of local staff,” said Brunilda Londo, executive director of the Albanian tourist union.

The Albanian tourism union gathered to discuss these challenges and then to address the requests to the government, starting with the unification of VAT for all operators.

In order not to have problems related to the lack of employees, some subjects have kept them even during the winter months, for these subjects the union thinks to request the help of the state for subsidy.
