Not only Albania, but also neighboring countries, have become the favorite destination of Albanians to spend a different weekend.
Rome, Verona, Milan are some of the cities that can be visited with only 150 euros per person.
The weekend belongs to family and friends, so Albanians make sure that these days are spent in the best possible way. More than 1500 Albanians, through tourist agencies, will travel from Friday evening, abroad, to return on Sunday.
“We have Rome, Verona… in Italy the prices are very cheap… three days ago in Sicily, a ticket was 45 euros round trip, rent an entrance, it costs 80 euros night and breakfast… Istanbul is a destination where the groups are endless, offers every weekend… A weekend is 139 euros per person,” said Aurela Baholli, tour operator.
The number of citizens is even higher as most of them wait for the tickets themselves. Meanwhile, even the cities in Albania are not left behind, even though the prices are often high.
“Korça is the little Paris and it is the main one, there is a constant demand and the bookings must be in advance because if you look for the last few days you will not find accommodation and places in restaurants… they are not cheap, for the place where we live and the income we have” , said Baholli.
Foreigners who come to Albania also have a high number. Poles were the group with the largest growth in 2023 for organized tourism. The figures up to October showed a 34% increase in the 10 months of last year compared to the previous year. Specifically, in January-October 2022, over 165 thousand Poles came, while in the same period of 2023, there were over 222 thousand.
