A study conducted by the European Commission assessing satisfaction levels with local healthcare services, doctors, and hospitals has revealed that less than half of Albanians have given a positive evaluation.
This figure is significantly lower than the European average, where over 70% of respondents expressed satisfaction with their healthcare systems.
However, Albania ranks considerably higher than some neighboring countries. Only 27% of residents in Skopje, North Macedonia, and 36% in Podgorica, Montenegro, reported being satisfied with healthcare services, placing them at the bottom of the list among the surveyed countries.
The study highlighted that cities in Western EU member states have the highest satisfaction rates, with nearly nine out of ten residents expressing contentment with their healthcare systems.
Meanwhile, in cities within Eastern EU member states, this figure drops to five out of ten. Outside the EU, the highest satisfaction level was recorded in cities across the United Kingdom, at 76%, whereas the lowest was found in the Western Balkans, at just 37%.
