About 1 in 2 Albanians in Albania (44%) haven’t heard of the ‘Open Balkan’ initiative, despite it being covered extensively by the press in both Albania and Kosovo.

Euronews Albania’s Barometer discovered that citizens in our country have very little information on this initiative, especially when it comes to the countries participating in it.

Many Albanians wrongfully believe that Montenegro (90%) and Bosnia Hercegovina (55%) are part of this initiative.

In addition, 20% believe that Kosovo is part of Open Balkan.

Even though few in number, there are also those that think Greece (7%), Croatia (18%), Bulgaria (16%), or even Romania (10%) are part of the Open Balkan initiative.

Excerpt from Euronews Albania’s Barometer Poll

Findings were uncovered by Euronews Albania’s Barometer, in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum, which conducted polls at a national level from November 20-30, 2021 that included 1.000 in-person interviews.
